 National Health Insurance’s 13th Anniversary Celebration and Creativity Competition
The National Health Insurance has entered its 13th year. On March 15, 2008, the Bureau of National Health Insurance held the celebration ceremony for its 13th birthday at the Bureau’s auditorium on the 18th floor (140, 3rd section, Hsinyi Road, Taipei City). For this event, the Bureau planned a drawing, an essay, and a multimedia production competition for six different age groups. The winners of each category were also awarded during the ceremony.
The competition received many excellent entries. All participants expressed their support and gratitude for the National Health Insurance with their creations. Their works have proved that people from every corner of the country are supporting the National Health Insurance and the medical care it provides. For example, many students in the junior and senior high school categories drew from their own experience and wrote about how the National Health Insurance helped them or their families in their times of need. It not only lent them a warm helping hand, but also provided them with the confidence and courage to pursue a healthy life.
In the drawing competition, it was also evident that children have a positive impression about the National Health Insurance. Some children portrayed it as a sun shining down on every living thing, and some portrayed it as a tree offering protection for his whole family. There were even children from Lanyu who inserted flying fish and canoes into their drawings. This showed that the success of the National Health Insurance has not been limited by geography.
After 13 years, the National Health Insurance has been instrumental for the health of every person in Taiwan. However, there is still room for improvement. In the future, the Bureau of National Health Insurance will continue to fulfill its responsibilities and provide more and better services to our citizens and the medical community.
