*Overseas Medical Care Reimbursement:

around the world With the National Health Insurance program, you’re covered no matter where you go whether in Taiwan or overseas. If you need emergency medical assistance, or even delivery care while overseas, just visit a legal healthcare provider and first pay any medical expenses out of your own pocket. You will be able to claim reimbursement within six months of receiving outpatient or emergency care or up until the day you are discharged from inpatient care. The insurer will reimburse depending on the fee schedules in Taiwan.

Anyone who needs medical care overseas should carry a copy of this document and provide it to the doctors, nurses or administration staff in the medical institution where you receive treatment, so that they can provide you with a complete document to include with your application after you return home.

*The Following Documents Should Be Attached :

1. Medical reimbursement application form
2. Original receipts of medical service payments and detailed statements
3. Diagnostic reports or related papers (if this documentation is not in Chinese/English, you’ll need to attach a translation)
4. Photocopies of passport with departure/arrival stamps of Taiwan Customs
